Global Teaching Partners & Scotland County Schools Bring Dual Language Immersion to Students

May 10, 2023 | Dual Language Immersion, News, Teachers

Bilingual education has become increasingly important in today’s globalized world, and Scotland County Schools is leading the way with its Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. The program, launched with the help of Global Teaching Partners, provides students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with the opportunity to learn Spanish and develop their bilingual skills.

The DLI program has been a resounding success, thanks to the dedicated teachers who have been instrumental in its implementation. Diana Cardozo and Sandra Rodriguez, who moved to the U.S. from Colombia, have been teaching Spanish to students in Scotland County, and their contributions have been invaluable.

The benefits of bilingual education are numerous. Students who learn a second language at an early age develop increased cognitive skills, cultural awareness, and improved job prospects in the future. The DLI program has provided Scotland County students with these advantages, opening up a new world of opportunities.

The collaboration between Scotland County Schools and Global Teaching Partners has been crucial to the success of the DLI program. By working together, schools and organizations can make a real difference in student’s lives and help prepare them for success in an increasingly globalized world.

Applications are now open for students to sign up for the DLI program for the next school year. The program is available to all students in Scotland County, and transportation is provided. We encourage parents and students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn a second language and develop the skills to help them succeed.

We want to thank Diana Cardozo and Sandra Rodriguez for their dedication to the Dual Language Immersion program and their commitment to bilingual education. Their hard work and passion for teaching Spanish to Scotland County students have profoundly impacted the community, and we are grateful for their contributions.

By offering bilingual education, Scotland County Schools and Global Teaching Partners are opening up new opportunities for students and helping prepare them for a bright future.
