Marlon Beckford (Jamaica) Career and Technical Education

Marlon is a Global Educator from the beautiful island nation of Jamaica. He is thrilled to be in his 18th year as a teacher in Business and Computing. Marlon earned his teaching Diploma in Business with Computing from Bethlehem Moravian College and later completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Computing at The University of Technology, Jamaica.

Marlon continues to make the most of his time at Northampton County High School in North Carolina. He enjoys teaching courses such as The Microsoft Package, Adobe Visual Design, and Computer Science Principles. After school, he acts as the Head Coach of the Cross Country team and is also a coach for the Track and Field team. Under his leadership, the 2019 Cross Country team won the Conference Championship, and he later helped the team reach the State Championship as well.

Additionally, Marlon was nominated as New Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year! Outside of school, he enjoys watching cricket, listening to music, and preparing Jamaican dishes.
