“My teaching philosophy is short and simple – Everyone can. As a teacher, it is my mission to instill in my students the belief that they can do anything they set their minds to.”

From Brazil to STEM Early High School in Vance County, N.C., Milton continues to serve as a proud and accomplished Science educator. He grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and attended State University of Campinas to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Education. Later, he moved to Toronto, Canada, to earn a Certification in Biochemistry. After arriving in the U.S., Milton capitalized on the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree in STEM Education from the American College of Education. Milton is also a proud member of the U.S. National Institute of STEM Education.

As a lover of learning, Milton is trilingual and appreciates a good book. He had a great learning experience working as a Science Educator at NASA in 2015 and has also received a STEM Certification from the U.S. Naval Academy. Milton believes that education goes beyond just knowledge and strives to inspire a mindset of growth and curiosity within his students.

Milton enjoys sports and the outdoors in his free time. He is passionate about soccer and hiking and has completed several half-marathons as well as the Sao Paulo International Marathon. In moving to North Carolina with his wife and two children, Milton has experienced personal and professional growth and is grateful for all the fabulous people he has met along the way!
