Minimum Requirements
Global Teaching Partners
All applicants must meet all of these requirements to be considered for candidacy in the Global Educator Program.
- 
          
            Bachelor’s Degree in EducationThe applicant must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in either education or the subject matter (or related subjects) he or she intends to teach. This degree is typically earned through a formal four [4]-year program at an accredited university. 
- 
          
            Two Years of ExperienceThe applicant must have a minimum of the equivalent of two years of post-degree full-time teaching experience. 
- 
          
            Qualifications MetThe applicant must meet the qualifications for teaching at the primary, including pre-kindergarten, or secondary levels in schools in his or her home country. 
- 
          
            Employed as an EducatorAt the time of application, the applicant must be employed as an educator, full time (32+ hours per week), as the head of a classroom at a K-12 school. 
- 
          
            Teaching Eligibility StandardsThe applicant must satisfy the teaching eligibility standards of the U.S. state in which he or she will teach, which can include but is not limited to a credential evaluation and a criminal background check. 
- 
          
            In Good StandingThe applicant must be of good reputation and character. 
- 
          
            Work AgreementThe applicant must agree to come to the U.S. temporarily as a full-time educator of record in an accredited primary or secondary school. Exchange educators may teach a variety of subjects and levels at their host school or schools, if qualified, but at the pre-kindergarten level, may teach only in language immersion programs. 
- 
          
            Non-U.S. ResidentThe applicant must not be a U.S. resident or a U.S. citizen, and the applicant must not have ever applied for a green card in the U.S. 
- 
          
            English ProficiencyThe applicant must be able to both speak and write in English. Global Teaching Partners requires applicants to measure at level B2 or higher on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). 
- 
          
            Valid Automobile LicenseThe applicant must have a valid automobile driver’s license in his or her country of residence.
