Elvin has been teaching for a decade, and he currently teaches art at Eastway Elementary School in Durham. Originally from Honduras, Elvin is passionate about the visual arts, and he has been able to incorporate this passion into his teaching. As a result, he has developed strong relationships with his students, and he has even been able to showcase their artwork in museums and hotels.
Over the previous summer, Elvin created a beautiful mural at Eastway Elementary School that showcases the diversity and creativity of the school’s students.
Elvin’s dedication to teaching and the arts is truly inspiring. He founded an organization in Honduras called Empower Honduras, which helps orphaned children learn English and life skills.
