Frequently Asked Questions

How does Global Teaching Partners support educators once they arrive?

Global Teaching Partners provides comprehensive, multi-layered support through Educator Success Coaches who conduct regular school visits and offer academic guidance, Transitional Advisors who assist with practical daily living needs, and Global Champions who provide peer mentorship from experienced international educators. We also offer ongoing professional development through our TalentLMS platform and maintain close communication with both educators and school administrators throughout the program.

Are Global Educators qualified to teach in U.S. schools?

Yes. Every Global Educator holds the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor's degree in education or their subject area, has a minimum of two years of full-time post-degree teaching experience, and meets all state teaching eligibility standards. We handle the credential evaluation and teaching license application process, ensuring educators are fully qualified before placement.

What subjects and grade levels do Global Educators teach?

Global Educators teach across all K-12 grade levels in various subjects including dual language immersion, ESL, mathematics, science, social studies, English language arts, elementary education, and specialized subjects. We work closely with districts to match educator expertise with your specific teaching needs and curriculum requirements.

How long can a Global Educator stay in the United States?

The J-1 Cultural Exchange Visa allows Global Educators to teach for up to three years with the possibility of a two-year extension, for a maximum of five years total. Educators are hired on year-to-year contracts, and continued employment depends on successful performance and district needs.

What costs are associated with hiring a Global Educator?

Global Educators are compensated on the same salary scale as your district's U.S. teachers based on their education and experience level. An annual sponsor fee is paid to Global per educator. The only other costs are the standard salary and benefits you already provide to teachers, making this a budget-neutral way to address teacher shortages with highly qualified professionals.

How does cultural exchange benefit our students?

International educators bring authentic global perspectives that enhance cultural awareness, promote inclusivity, and inspire students to become thoughtful global citizens. They participate in cross-cultural activities, share their heritage, and model the value of diverse perspectives—enriching your entire school community while meeting your instructional needs.

When do Global Educators typically begin teaching?

Global Educators start teaching at the beginning of the school year, typically in July or August. We coordinate timing to align with your district's calendar and ensure educators complete our comprehensive orientation before entering the classroom.
