April deeply values the opportunity to share her love of learning with her American students through the help of Global Teaching Partners. She is a passionate educator from the Philippines with 15 years of teaching experience prior to her arrival in the U.S.

April earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a Major in Chemistry from the Philippine Normal University. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Environmental Education from the University of the Philippines.

Outside of school, April enjoys playing various sports with her husband and son. They have especially bonded during the pandemic by routinely playing tennis, baseball, and golf. Additionally, they love to travel and explore different places here in the U.S., with a favorite being Nashville, Tennessee.

April was voted Teacher of the Year for Carrington Middle School in Durham Public Schools during the academic year 2019-2020!
