Rosanna Dowlen has followed her passion for teaching from her hometown of Browley, southeast London, to Durham, North Carolina. She is proud to continue helping children discover and celebrate the things they are good at while supporting them with the things they find challenging.
Since settling in the Bull City, Rosanna and her husband, Hugo, have enjoyed exploring local state parks and road-tripping to neighboring states and have even joined a local acapella/barbershop chorus.
Of her experience thus far, Rosanna has said the following: “Starting a new job, in a new education system, in a new county was daunting, but it only took me 5 minutes on the first day to realize that kids are kids wherever they are in the world. However different in their situations, they all want to know you care and want to feel successful. Keeping that at the forefront of my mind has helped me overcome any cultural differences or challenges I’ve encountered.”
In addition, Rosanna is proud to represent her home country as Global Educator.
